Dear Mr. Japp,

What a lovely little craft she is!! I raced against her just after the war, worked on her after bringing her up from Falmouth when bought by Mr. Carr. Then saw her in Moody’s later being hacked by two young men. I tried to collect enough cash to buy her, but was too late. I hope you are successful.

I have had a cursory look at the costing for the two Masts and the two Booms in Columbian Clear, Varnished minimum 7 coats. Budgetary estimate £17,000.00 Plus VAT.

Mast Fittings and Boom Fittings, there is a possibility to obtain ready made Bronze Gooseneck and Boom Fittings from Germany. We also have Patterns and are currently fitting Bronze Gooseneck, Boom Gaff Fittings in Bronze, aloft Galvanised Mild Steel or Stainless Fittings both cost the same but I personally prefer the Galvanised. I do not trust S.S. weld too much, it also fatigues.

Once an approximate size is known, (from Deck Partners or original Drawings) a detailed quote can be given.

I trust this is helpful.

Yours faithfully

(Signed Harry Spencer)
