These pictures show Amokura stripped back to her bare frame during a refit by the Pulver brothers who bought her in 1979 from Susan Carr, Richard’s widow (he died in 1978).  Amokura was 40 years old at this point and her planking and frames needed refastening.  The work was started by Southampton Yacht Services and as the refit cost increased the Pulvers switched to managing the job themselves using independent contractors.
